A project budget outlines the expected income, expenses, and profit for your project.  Project budget tracking enables you to track how much of this budget has been spent over time so you can monitor how much is remaining and course-correct when necessary.

Using Sharktower's budget feature, you will now be able to continuously monitor our budget over the course of the project so you're aware of any budget variances in time to properly manage their impact

Getting started

With Budget, you can manage your project's budget right from within your Sharktower project. The feature is available via the "Project" link in the top banner of any project page.

To kick things off, you need to add a cost line, look out for this button below!

Once added, you can start to breakdown your costs for each month.  You can enter a description, category, and type, then your monthly budget and forecast for the relevant month.

If you are forecast under budget, the cell will display a blue outline, if you are forecast over budget, the cell will display a purple outline.

The values entered here will be represented in the month by month breakdown table shown above the cost breakdown.  This accumulates your figures to provide an overall summary for each month.

Removing a cost line

To remove a cost line, click on the button with the negative symbol to the left of the description.  You will be asked to confirm your action as this removes all the data and is cannot be undone.

Viewing the data

Once you have entered the breakdown of your project's budget, you can view the tiles above that display the total project budget, the current forecast, and the delta.  Additionally, a graph is displayed to show the cumulative budget and forecast over time.
