If you are using story points on your project, the burndown chart can help you track progress towards the delivery of an activity.

In the example below, the activity is linked to three estimated stories, with complexity points of 2, 4 and 6. One story has been completed.

As time passes, and you close more stories, the burndown line will update to reflect the point burndown/completion.

Things to note

  • The burndown chart will only appear once an activity is linked to at least one story with complexity points, AND the  activity has a start date of today or before.
  • Stories can be linked to activities directly in the Plan, by searching for specific stories in the search bar in the activity. detail view or by using the plus button to create a new story. You can also achieve this by going to the story detail view (in the Plan or Kanban) and using the search bar to search for an activity.
  • One story can link to one activity only.
